Singapore, 20 November 2011 – An ad hoc group of individual volunteers from Project Happy Feet bought tickets to attend a private annual fund-raising dinner organised by Jeff, a regional marketing manager from a global consumer products company, whose volunteering experience with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation left him with a deep impression of the important work the Hanoi-based organisation is doing.
The fund-raising event saw friends and families, and their friends and families, attend the dinner which was held at Dan Ryan’s restaurant at Tanglin Place. More than 100 people showed up for the event. Part proceeds from the ticket sale go directly to support the work of Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation.
Before the guests were treated to a free flow of turkey, french beans, salads, and Dan Ryan’s famous buffalo wings, Jeff showed a video of Ngoc and Can, two streetkids who were rescued by Blue Dragon.
“I hope that as we enjoy this Thanksgiving dinner, we remember the street kids that Blue Dragon is reaching out to rescue,” says Jeff during his short welcome address.
Jeff and his friends are looking at organising the annual event again next Thanksgiving. If you are keen to support his private fund-raising efforts, drop us a line and we’ll be happy to connect you with Jeff and his friends.
