Food Artist goes the distance for PHFSR

Online Food Artist Samantha Lee was so inspired by the cause of Project Happy Feet, she created a dish just to support the upcoming Project Happy Feet Slipper Race in Singapore.

HAPPY going to school - edible food art to support PHF Slipper Race

Needless to say, this is one Facebook post that is so good you can eat it too:

Samantha's Facebook post on 17 August 2013

“Kids in Cambodia walk 3-5km just to goto school, if there’s school nearby. Hope ppl put themselves in the shoes(slippers) of these kids,” says this mother-of-two whose delicious creations have made her an instagram star with more than 250,000 followers.

“I’m Happy to go the distance to support education of underprivileged children around the world, and I hope you will too. Be part of the Project Happy Feet Slipper Race on 31 August 2013 in SINGAPORE!”

In fact, this is the second time Samantha has made a shout out in support of Project Happy Feet Slipper Race. On 25 July 2013, she dedicated one of her previous creations – Penguins (because the name ‘Project Happy Feet’ reminded her of the ‘Happy Feet’ movie featuring dancing penguins) – to call for her online fans to support the Slipper Race.

Samantha used her food art to support PHF

When asked about her inspiration for the HAPPY Going to School dish, she says: “I made this design because it’s for kids. It’s something bright and positive since HAPPY (the PHF mascot) is walking towards the sunlight and a building. I hope I have created something happy looking, especially if kids get to see it.”

“Its very easy to make and it will be super fun when Project Happy Feet decides to make this dish for an event for kids!”

We’re naturally excited Samantha has created this dish for us, and are looking forward to the day when we prepare this special plate for our beneficiaries.
