Since the very first informally organised trip in 2008 to Siem Reap and the formalisation of Project Happy Feet as a registered organisation in Singapore in 2009, Project Happy Feet has dedicated itself to making footprints of change by empowering lives through supporting training and education of underprivileged youths and children so as to alleviate poverty.
Run entirely by volunteers with the operating philosophy that “every dollar goes towards the supporting the beneficiaries”, Project Happy Feet has to date raised and disbursed in excess of SGD1.3million, and supported thousands of youths and children through providing bursaries and scholarships, giving school supplies, and building infrastructure such as water wells, toilets, libraries and school facilities. The footprint of Project Happy Feet’s work extended beyond Singapore to Cambodia, India, Nepal, Philippines, and Vietnam.
All these would not have been possible if not for the contribution of more than 500 volunteers, partners and supporters throughout the region.
While Project Happy Feet has never organised a single event over the years to celebrate its anniversary milestones (preferring to put time and energy to support the causes of its beneficiaries instead), we thought it would be nice to coincide one of its signature events this year to commemorate its reaching the 10-year mark.
So stay tuned as we string together a series of activities organised by Project Happy Feet and its partners to commemorate 10 years of making footprints of change!
